((*thumbs up* Gotcha!))
Evan's bewilderment only grows and he bites back the urge to argue further - he can't think of a reason for a teacher to lie to him, after all, even if what he's saying seems fantastical and doesn't agree with what Evan recalls of events.
"I... I'm sorry?" he apologizes, sounding unsure of what he's apologizing for. He shrugs and adds, "I didn't even know I did that, or could do that." To the question about classes he nods, saying, "yes, I'm in regular classes, I was just running a bit late and distracted."

"It's okay. I will get you enrolled in special classes. You went to the wrong building, this building is for magic users only. This is kismet." The Professor will smile. "You should come and meet your future classmate. Are you local? I will contact your parents to let them know." Professor Carbrey is going to guide Evan over to Paige.

Paige would smile warmly towards the bewildered Evan. "Hi. I'm Paige, I also have no idea what I'm really doing here." Blue eyes twinkling with amusement before she'd offer her hand. "I'm from New Zealand, in case the Aussie accent is confusing." She'd look slightly worried, physically worrying her lower lip with her teeth before that genteel expression once again took over. "Professor, I have some questions... When there's time."

"Yessir," Evan says. "Evan Owen," and gives his current class details briefly to the professor, as well as pulling out his phone and offering his parents' phone numbers so they can be reached.
Evan allows himself to be herded by the teacher, blinking as Paige speaks to him - cute girl, ok, could be worse, definitely - and he finally starts to get his bearings again. He smiles ruefully at her words.
"Well then I guess I feel better, since at least I'm only half a click from home and absolutely confused." He gives her hand a tentative shake, not sure how firmly to squeeze, trying for a pleasant balance between grip and comfort.

"Is it something you want to talk about in private Paige?" Professor Carbrey will ask in a sympathetic manner. "Evan you have a magic talent you might make an excellent Quasitor one day."
He is going to try to be understanding and calm. "The best place for you is the magic building. I would recommend that you move into the Dorm."

She smiles wryly at his less than impressive handshake; her father would have given him a lecture. "Here, like this." She says, gripping firmly on the underside without squeezing and gives a perfunctory three shakes before disengaging. "This handshake states you're business without being impatient." Grinning sheepishly. "Sorry, the lessons my father has taught me tend to slip out without much thought." Before turning to the Professor. "I saw... colours when you cast those spells and when Evan reflected it back on you. I think I would like to know how I can determine which colour belongs to which realm - so no, not necessarily a private matter, just one that may take a little time to figure out. But of course, there's the matter of our newest student to attend to." Once more giving a friendly smile.

"Oops, sorry," Owen says, colouring a bit at being lectured kindly on handshakes by the Kiwi. He's still a wee bit stunned, however, and the overlapping "conversations" going on leave him murmuring softly, under his breath, "what's a Quaesitor?"

"I don't think either of us have magic from other realms. I am more than happy to teach you about magic. It is my job after all." He will smile before turning to Evan. "They are a bit like the magic police. My division dealt with demons. I was partnered with a member of the Church of England. Finlay Hunter. Good man, knew what he was doing."

She would smile gently to Evan at his apology but would remain quiet, letting the men talk.

"D-demons?" Evan stammers slightly, eyes wide and nervous as he's caught off-guard by the explanation and the thought of having to deal with one. Demons, spirits, they were the sort of thing one called the Church or a mage for - but now he realizes that if he's got magic, he might be that person asked to deal with one.
"Hopefully not anytime soon," he squeaks, eyes still wide and his smile wide but nervous.

"Don't worry about demons leave them to the professionals." He says with a smile. "They're the ones who signed up for it."
