Night and Day (Dorm Room) (Closed; Grace & Willow)

Grace smiles at that and shrugs, not taking the rejection personally, it's not for everyone after all "Oh cool... would you show me some of your stuff?"

Inside the book was a pencil drawing of a very cute animal holding an m&m and wearing a hood. the animal looked very happy about this

"I have those too, but my art style is pretty cartoony, I sometimes just like to teeter totter between cute or scary and I sometimes try to do both at the same time."

"No, it's cool. I like it when I get a chance to show my art. I really like drawing. When people see my art, it encourages me to keep doing it."

Willow slips her book away and looks at Grace in the eyes, cocking her head.
"I guess I could give you the same advice picking up any new hobby would have as well as some advice I hold to heart today. Practice. All artists think they're bad at art, and you are your own worst critic, Whatever you draw, you took the painstaking effort to create it, you notice every mistake you made and most likely only you are going to notice. This is true for beginners too, and it's usually the reason they just drop off of it altogether, because they see all these mistakes and don't think they're going to be as good as someone else. Mistakes don't have to be a bad thing, the ones that you think are so good at art, they stuck around and always tried to find ways to get better. I might not be as good as some of the artists I like, but that's okay, I'm as good as me... You are as good as you."


Willow flops down backwards on her bed, bouncing on the mattress, her hair just kinda fans out along the spread, this is probably the only time Grace saw her entire face.
"Okay, inspirational rant over. Can you tell I'm a dork yet?"

"Well I do animations too." Willow suggested. "I don't really think you're the type to read my webcomic,but for major plotpoints, instead of adding pages, I like to throw in fully animated scenes. Would you like to see my latest one?"

"Well... Okay, I don't think you'll like it though, but I'll send it to you anyway." Willow sits up and pulls up Pencil2D on her laptop. She goes through her recently opened list, clicking on one labelled as Henry's Big Scene.Immediately Willow is greeted with an error message and a completely blank animation. "Wh-- no no nononononono. Don't corrupt on me, piece of shit. God, you were almost done! Fuck!"

Grace slides a little closer, though backing off again when she calls out in panic "What happened, did it break?"
She knows quite little of either animations or the technical workings of computers, though growing up with them as all of us did she knows how to work with them well enough

Grace nodded a little bit at that "Uhm.. i guess you'll show it to me another time.. when you manage to fix it again, right?"

She nods a little at that in understanding "I hope you have like some backups or something.." getting up to give Willow room, figuring she doesn't need her hovering behind her shoulder for that

Grace nods a little bit, sitting on her own bed to give the other girl some space to do her thing, getting out the devices the school supplied to see what is on them and such
